In our series of the six patients, the urethral stents failed when used
in strictures recurring after urethrotomy or urethroplasty. Surgical removal of
the stents require partial urethrectomy and the loss of the urethral tissue and
local adverse conditions do not allow the use of one-stage urethroplasty, using
graft or flap for reconstruction.
